Patan

Patan, an ancient fortified town, was founded in 745 AD by Vanraj Chavda, the most prominent king of the Chavda Kingdom. He named the city "Anhilpur Patan" or "Anhilwad Patan" after his close friend and Prime Minister Anhil Gadariya.

Patan is known for Rani ki Vav, an intricately constructed step-well, built as a memorial to an 11th century AD King Bhimdev-I and now a UNESCO's World Heritage Site. The patola sari of Patan, one of the finest hand-woven sarees famous for extremely its delicate patterns woven with great precision and clarity, is another major tourist attraction.

Besides, there are many other attractions including forts, talavs (lakes) and places of worship.
